Fall in Maryland is just beautiful—the leaves starting to turn lovely shades of gold and red, a nice drop on the thermometer, the scent of pumpkin spice hanging heavy in the air… It’s most definitely a time to celebrate! And if you’re in the Baltimore area, there are lot of ways to get out and do just that.
Here are the best ways to enjoy fall in Baltimore.
Pick Some Pumpkins
Nothing says “Hello Fall!” quite like pumpkin picking. And the Baltimore and Baltimore County area has a lot of great pumpkin patches and local farms to pick from. Here are a few of our favorites:
- Chapel Hills Farm & Nursery: Perry Hall, MD
- Fresh McKenzie Farm: Baldwin, MD
- Rodgers’ Farms: Greenspring Valley, MD
- Strohmer’s Farm: Woodstock, MD
- Jumbo’s: Middletown, MD
Find Some Fun at Clark’s Elioak Farm
You can also find pumpkin picking at Clark’s Elioak Farm… but there’s a whole lot more to enjoy at this fun-filled farm. Its hayrides are an area favorite, but it’s also loved for its pony and cow train rides. And while you’re at the farm, take a ride on the Enchanted Express Trail or explore the Enchanted Forest. Weekends bring gem mining and tons of food vendors. And don’t forget to check out some of Clark’s fun events, like the annual Pumpkin Chucking Weekend on November 7 – 8.
Enjoy Some Gorgeous Leafy Views
You don’t have to go far outside of the city to start seeing some beautiful leaves! But if you want to stay close to home, you can get some pretty fantastic views at Druid Hill Park in the heart of Baltimore. Here are a few other great parks in the area for good leaf-peeping:
- Oregon Ridge Park: Cockeysville
- Patapsco Valley State Park: Ellicott City, MD
- Elk Neck State Park: North East, MD
- Gunpowder Falls State Park: Kingsville, MD
